Abstract
On the basis of the Rosstat data for 2015 by regions the article provides an example of integral estimation of the quality of life of population using two methods – index and cluster analysis. To estimate the quality of life of population there were used 13 indicators characterizing material situation and housing provision of households, accessibility of education and quality health care, environmental situation in the region. As a result of cluster analysis retaining multidimensionality of the characteristics of regions the authors got 8 clusters with different number of regions ranging from 3 to 21. Calculation of average values of the statistical indicators in each cluster shows its most clear characteristics. Each cluster includes regions with relatively close values of the integral index of the quality of life. At the same time, ranging of the RF regions by values of the integral index of the quality of life within each cluster allows finding out inequality between them, and calculation of average value of the integral index of the quality of life for a cluster as a whole – ranging the clusters.Combination of two different approaches makes it possible to obtain a more valid typology of the RF subjects by the population quality of life.
