Abstract
Objective of the study is to identify the role of famous graduates of the history department of Rostov State University (now Southern Federal University) in the development of museum work in the Don Region.
The methodological basis of the research was the memories of compatriots, little-known biographical facts, literary sources, periodicals, statistical data.
Results of the study. The author showed the role of Anatoly Gorbenko in the development of the Azov Museum of Local Lore; Vladimir Gladchenko – at the foundation of the Aksai Military History Museum; Valery Chesnok – in creating the modern appearance of the Tanais archaeological museum-reserve.
Research Perspectives. This material will be useful for the modern information society, in which the most important condition is to build spiritual and intellectual potential.
