Abstract

Objective of the study is to analysis of the design of the future by design in the structure of the development of technical civilization. The methodological basis of the study. The socio-cultural approach to the study of the history of designing the future is supplemented by the method of hermeneutics in order to understand the meanings of future design in the social structure in the context of scientific and technological progress. Results of the study. Clarification of the social meaning and economic purpose of designing the future in the context of scientific and technological progress of civilization; the essence of the correlation of futuristic design with the utopia of modernity and scenarios of the future in the situation of postmodernity. The project of salvation in the context of the coming ecological crisis and the tasks of improving technologies in the near future. Research рerspectives. The possibility of amplifying the design of civilization and correcting scientific and technological progress in the context of a growing ecological crisis, taking into account the commercial effect of individual areas of consumption – dream cars, fashion, the film industry, architectural concepts, everyday life items.
