Abstract
Objective of the study is to analyze the main range of issues of ecofuturology as one of the new directions of philosophical thought through comparison with the conceptual foundations of ecophilosophy and futurology.
The methodological basis of the research is the analysis and generalization of scientific literature, problem-focused comparison of theoretical concepts.
Results of the study show that ecofuturology is one of the important and actively developing sections of ecophilosophy. Being a product of futurology and ecophilosophy, ecofuturology actualizes and analyzes, first of all, socio-philosophical issues. Its goal is to construct harmonious relationships within the framework of the inevitably unified and integral system “man – society – nature”. The construction of a “bright eco-future” is possible by forming an image of the future – a positive image-goal, which is the most desirable among all possible ones. Thus, in contrast to traditional futurology, ecofuturology focuses not on foreseeing various options for the future, but on eco-philosophical design and transformation of society, “cultivating” social optimism. Exploring such topics as historical goal-setting and issues of social axiology, ecofuturology addresses their classical concepts through the prism of “post-postmodernism” with its eco-rational perception of the world, considering man as a “microcosm in the macrocosm”.
Prospects of the study. Further research in the field of ecofuturology, as well as the application of its approaches and concepts, will contribute not only to the evolution of this new philosophical direction and its emergence to a new theoretical and methodological level, but also to the practical understanding of the broad possibilities of man in transforming both the environment and his own life.
