Abstract

Objective of the study is to analyze social and political situation in the Republic of Crimea; to determine the level of trust in social and political institutions; to assess the state of social tension, the degree of influence of the information field on the social well-being of Crimean residents; to identify the factor of the state of interethnic relations in the region.   The methodological basis of the study includes an analytical review of scientific literature about social and political situation and the interethnic relations in Crimea; the analysis of the results of sociological research by the team of the Crimean Branch of the Federal Center of Theoretical and Applied Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2024. The sample is represented by the adult population of the Republic of Crimea. The parameters of the general population of the studied region are considered: gender, age, education, as well as urban and rural population. The results of the study.  The population of Crimea notes the improving of the socio-economic and political situation in the region. The level of trust in the social and political institutions of the country and the region has increased. Crimeans are most concerned about the following issues: the special military operation; the losses among civilians and military personnel; deterioration of the financial conditions and rising prices; terrorism. It is worth noting a high level of anxiety, social tension and the interethnic confrontation. Information wars exert psychological pressure, sow panic, and mislead the population of Crimea. Prospects of the study. We will continue to study social and political situation and the interethnic relations in the framework of the state order We plan to monitor the level of social tension and the factors affecting it in the Republic of Crimea. The obtained sociological data can be used by the representatives of regional and local authorities, law enforcement officials for preventive work and countering the threat of terrorism and extremism.
