Abstract
Objective of the study is to substantiate the importance of volunteer practices in ensuring the sustainability of regional development in terms of global instability.
The methodological basis of the study. The study of volunteer practices is based on the interdisciplinary, societal, socio-economic, socio-cultural, comparative, institutional and community approaches.
The results of the study. Volunteer practices make a significant contribution to ensuring the sustainability of regional development. They relate to the creation of public goods, improvement of territorial infrastructure and development of local communities, establishment of intersectoral interactions. A multiple increase in volunteering has been revealed in almost all federal districts of Russia over the past five years. The quantitative and qualitative structure of volunteer practices in Adygea is also changing. However, in general, the proportion of volunteers in Adygea is not high enough. It determines the need to support the volunteer movement by the regional government institutions, businesses and NGOs.
Prospects of the study. Further study of the influence of socio-cultural practices of volunteers on the consolidation of Russian society in terms of global instability; research of volunteers’ life strategies and the problems of participation of population in volunteer projects are necessary to improve volunteer programs and regional development projects.
