Abstract

Objective of the study. The article is devoted to a thematic analysis of publications covering research in the field of aging over the past five years. The purpose of the study is to identify key trends in modern sociological approaches to the study of aging, as well as to analyze the thematic range of publications dealing with this issue. Methodological basis of the study. The empirical base of the study consists of 1,000 sources on sociology, anthropology, culture studies and demography. The materials under consideration highlight the features of aging, as well as the influence of various factors on this process and its sociological understanding. Results of the study. As a result of the analysis, a number of trends are identified. The topics related to the transformation of the concept of active longevity dominate among them. Special attention is paid to the study of people's individual perception of their health and participation in social activity. It turned out that scientific publications in the field of social sciences address issues of inclusion, social adaptation, employment and continuing professional activity in old age. In addition, considerable attention is paid to the analysis of social policy, the economic efficiency of using the resources of the elderly population and the transformation of pension systems.   Prospects of the study.  Highlighting the main trends in aging research in modern publications allows us to follow these trends in the future when conducting empirical research. The conclusions of this article will allow empirical articles to revise the chronological determinants of age and aging, which have a significant impact on many works in social research.
