Abstract

Objective of the study. Analysis of the possibilities of introducing the elements of a managerial approach to managing internal and external social responsibility as a factor in increasing the efficiency of Russian scientific institutions. Methodological basis of the study includes a comparative analysis of the workshop (“mastery”) and managerial approaches to management, a systems approach to social responsibility (internal and external), and a critical analysis of the organizational practices of scientific institutions. The basis is the concept of advanced commitments and social reporting, considered as tools for increasing efficiency, which allows us to propose a balanced model that combines the professional autonomy of the scientific community with the elements of modern management practices. Results of the study. The key features of shop management (“masterism”) in scientific institutions are identified, including its resistance to change, closed professional community and weak receptivity to management innovations. It is substantiated that the traditional approach to the management of scientific organizations limits their potential due to: lack of systemic interaction with the external environment; insufficient focus on the commercialization of scientific results; weak adaptation to the needs of society and the market. The authors prove that the introduction of elements of the managerial approach (systemic management of social responsibility, advanced obligations to employees and external stakeholders, public reporting) can improve the efficiency of management in scientific institutions. Recommendations for the integration of managerial principles into the management of scientific organizations without a radical rejection of traditional approaches are developed. Prospects of the study. Further research may be aimed at: Empirical verification of the proposed models of social responsibility management in specific scientific institutions. Development of methods for evaluating the effectiveness of implementing managerial approaches in non-profit scientific organizations. The study of barriers to organizational change in the scientific environment and ways to overcome them. Comparative studies of international management experience in scientific institutions to identify the best practices applicable to Russian conditions. Thus, the study opens up new directions for scientific discussion about the modernization of management in scientific organizations in terms of global management trends.
