Abstract
Objective of the study is to describe an educational model through a critical analysis of the place of the discipline “Foreign Language” in the educational process.
Methodological basis of the study is built on the synthetic-deductive approach considering education from the perspective of specific historical conditions and social needs. The article also analyses educational functions at the current stage of social development.
Results of the study. The authors conclude that at the current stage the task of teachers is to approach their duties in a correct and rational manner, while emphasizing that the role of the teacher remains a priority within the new educational model.
Prospects of the study are primarily linked to the creation of an educational environment model that maximizes the role of the student in the process of learning a foreign language.
