Abstract

This article presents the author's posi­tion on the issue of identification strat­egies of the Russians. On the basis of the actualization of the concept of so­cial and cultural trauma, Author con­cludes that «the trauma of conscious­ness», the perception of collective ex­perience as having deprivational effects on gradation identities, is manifested in Russian society as neutralization social traumageneity, the inclusion of the mi­cro-level of social identities and the positioning of Russian identity as ma­cro-identity on socio-presentational, but not socio-consolidating foundation.
