Abstract
The present article represents general results of the sociological research conducted by the South Russian branch of Institute of sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In article the problems of the social health and the social inequality in Rostov region are described. Authors determine and classify the reasons of poverty as social phenomenon and give an assessment to social wellbeing of inhabitants of the region now.
