Abstract
Depending on the geographical and social characteristics of the studied regions, exotic in the Third World, «folk» and the modern West, the interest in modernization, the modern world and the era of modernity led to the emergence of new approaches and specific issues. The article analyzes the purpose of Ethnology. Traced the circumstances in which this discipline to respond to various social, political, cultural and scientific contexts.
