Abstract

The article describes the main directions in the development of Russian regional sociology. The author shows the role of sociology in its collaboration with the subjects of regional management, he specifies the format of this interaction. The basic directions in the interaction of sociological forces and actors of regional management are studied. The author comes to the conclusion that the principal mechanism of interaction of regional sociology and the subjects is bilateral and multilateral partnerships of academic and university centers, governments, businesses and NGOs. It is pointed out that regional sociology has sufficient potential for implementing its tasks.
