Abstract
This article defines ethnoinstitutional factor in migration and interethnic relations. Ethnoinstitutions are regarded as stable complexes of individual and collective behavioral norms and motivations, mediated ethnic culture and identity. The article shows that the conflict potential of migration is primarily associated with incompatibility of et- noinstitutions of host and coming population. It is necessary to develop transmitting institutions to reduce the conflict potential of interethnic relations. Such institutions should be able to “translate” ethnoinstitutional requirements of the host community in the form which will motivate migrants
