Abstract
The understanding of the Russian culture crisis at the beginning of the XX century in the context of S. N. Bulgakov’s Christian concept of culture makes certain contribution to the understanding of the essence of Orthodox culture and the challenges for its creation, with which the Orthodox human face today. In the light of the Christian concept of culture of Russian thinker the specifics of philosophical transformations, typical for different social strata of Russian society is revealed: the heroic intelligentsia, asceticism, Russian people. If asceticism is the spiritual and psychological type of a real Christian culture person, the heroic intelligentsia is a contradictory type of a pseudo-secular atheist. The spiritual world of Russian people is also very controversial: on the one hand, it has got the features of asceticism, on the other hand it has got signs of atheistic influence of the heroic intelligentsia.
