Abstract
The article analyzes the correlation of fundamental properties of the ethnic system as an open type system, the manifestation of which can lead to both its improvement and degradation. It is asserted that the openness property of an ethnos is the most important. Openness ensures the realization of a number of other properties of ethnic system – nonequilibrium, nonlinearity, dissipativity, etc. Nonequilibrium generates the sensitivity to small perturbations and fluctuations. Their accumulation can lead to irreversible changes in the ethnogeny. Nonlinearity is manifested in the ambiguity of its development. Dissipativity leads to self-improvement and self-complication, causes qualitatively new properties and processes in the ethnos. The work has an interdisciplinary nature, it is written at the junction of ethnological, philosophical, cultural and natural sciences.
