Abstract
The processes occurring in modern Russian society are of great interest not only for scientific community but also for the general public. This circumstance is due to the fact that the classical and non-classical approaches to the study of social processes do not give an adequate response to the features of the present stage of development of Russia, with its instability and systemic crises, the collapse of the hopes and aspirations of the people and also understanding of the prospects for its further development.From the authors’ position, the solution of this problem can be achieved in the discourse of the post-nonclassical paradigm of modern scientific cognition of social processes. In this paradigm, a concept such as "social bifurcation" is central to the study of social processes associated with social entropy in Russian society. The article is devoted to the study of the development of Russian society in the bifurcation dimension.
