Abstract
This article examines the influence of religion on the social practice of volunteering. Volunteer participation is seen as a sphere of activity, which in its spirit is the closest to non-cult religious actions, and in this regard expresses the ideals of service, compassion, love of neighbor. The author interprets the empirical data from the point of view of assessing the potential of religious-volunteer interaction, the values of the religious component in the work of volunteers. Analysis of the data finds no religious adjustability volunteer activity, even though participation in religious volunteer organizations. The participation of regional youth in volunteer activities for religious or secular reasons is poorly differentiated.
