Abstract
The article is devoted to the defining of the methodological basis of the research of the internal factors of students’ intellectual potential in the Rostov region. The author examines the main approaches to the definition of the intellectual potential with the aim of construction a definition of the concept. On the basis of the definition several levels of analysis of the characteristics of the students’ intellectual potential in the Rostov region are revealed: 1) social; 2) institutional (social institution of education); 3) group (values of students as a social group).
