Mass Sport and Its Significance for Modern Russian Youth

Abstract

The article examines the main social functions of the mass sports, its significance for Russian youth. Young people are an important subject of social development and reproduction of society as a whole; its social formation and development occurs within the framework of basic social institutions. Sport is one of such institutes. While the mass form of sport activity is generally accessible and has a number of important functions for social and physical development of youth. Today the youth exists in the risk society and social reality containing many challenges and threats.
