Abstract
The article deals with the peculiarities of interethnic relations in modern Russia, which is one of the largest multinational countries in the world. A list of major methods of settlement of ethnic conflicts is formulated. The author conducted the analysis of the basic normative legal documents aimed at expanding the practice of constructive interethnic interaction of the peoples of the Russian Federation. The expediency of application of civil dialogue as an effective means of preventing the interethnic conflicts is justified.
