Abstract
The article outlines the problems of ensuring the economic stability of machine-building enterprises in the Rostov Region as part of the Southern Federal District and gives recommendations on the implementation of the state policy of import substitution in order to increase the economic stability of the enterprises of the region. A model for managing the strategic development of machine building companies has been formed, contributing to their further effective operations.
