Abstract
In the article, the heuristic possibilities of the axiological, institutional, resource and constructivist paradigms of the sociological study of patriotism and civic-mindedness in the youth environment in the South of Russia are considered in the context of critical analytical reflection. Possessing a high cognitive potential, these paradigms, due to their methodological limitations, do not provide a holistic view of the social reality under study. The formation of such a representation involves the development of multidimensional methodological constructs aimed at the sociological study of patriotism and citizenship in the youth environment in the South of Russia as special structures of mental programs that determine the patriotic and civic practices of youth in polyethnic regions.
