Abstract

The article shows the contradictions between the assessments of the role of law in the daily life of the society and the individual legal practices. Based on the results of the sociological research conducted by the South of Russia Branch of the FNISTS of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2018, the authors of the article found the lack of trust to the judicial institutions, expressed in the practice of applying to the courts as a guarantor of the execution of laws. The ambivalence of legal conscience of South Russia residents is revealed. It requires the change of the mechanisms of law in general in Russian society.
