Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the possibilities of the influence of the Buddhist faith on the emotional state and development of the personality of the believer. Based on extensive material, the author shows that Buddhism, as a rule, has a beneficial effect on the spiritual and mental health of the individual, contributes to a positive emotional state even in difficult life situations. However, ritual techniques aimed at accepting the illusory nature of an individual can create apathy, loss of meaningful orientations, and a decrease in the self-esteem of a believer.
