Abstract
The purpose of the article is to analyze the current state of the Russian Orthodox Church social service, a sociological examination of the prospects for this sociocultural activity that has a significant impact on the development of Russian civil society. The theoretical and methodological basis of this study consists of socio-cultural and structural-functional approaches. The article uses a systematic and interdisciplinary analysis that provides a comprehensive sociological study of the diakonia of the Russian Orthodox Church.
