Abstract

The article shows that over time, the nature of social interactions changes in the socio-cultural space of demonstrative consumption of leisure, new cultural norms and values appear. The population is involved in consumer activity in the field of leisure and one of the goals of this activity is the creation of their own identity. The emergence of forms and types of elite leisure connected with demonstrative consumption leads to an aggravation between the leisure needs of individuals and the possibilities of their realization. The construction of free time in a special way allows to emphasize social status and strengthen it.
