Abstract
The article presents a philosophical analysis of nationalism as a socio-historical phenomenon and theoretical concept. It is noted that at present there are two quite influential intellectual traditions of interpretations of nationalism (constructivism and primordialism) that need to be applied in a synthetic way, since the phenomenon under consideration is quite complex and has a number of aspects of its manifestation, which in its turn are related to both ethnic culture and self-consciousness of an individual nation, and a specific political project for the construction and further development of a sovereign state.
Keywords:
nationalism, constructivism, primordialism, philosophy
