Abstract
Currently, the intensity of changes taking place in modern society, increasingly raises the question of tradition and its continuity, the consideration of religious tradition is becoming especially relevant. For this purpose, in this work was carried out analysis of such concepts as “tradition” and “modernization”, “religious tradition”, “religious experience”, “religious dogma”, “spiritual mentor”, “Christian virtues”. In this regard, the tradition of studying this issue was considered both in philosophy (the science that first began this analysis), first of all, in the works of P. Florensky, and in sociology, particularly, in the works of M. Weber, A. Schutz, P. Bourdieu. The main trends of the current religious tradition are highlighted on the materials of long-term sociological research, biographical interviews of Orthodox monks and nuns of the ROC, the so-called advanced bearer of religious tradition.
