Abstract

The Kalmyk folklore epic “Jangar” embodies the philosophy of life of the Kalmyks’ ancestors, tells about the country of happiness and prosperity Bumba and the exploits of its heroes. The epic is imbued with the spirit of heroism and love for its people, for the Motherland. This is a historical and heroic epic work about the difficult life of the Kalmyks’ ancestors, distinguished by hedonism, about their sons-heroes - defenders of their long-suffering country. The philosophy of life of Kalmyks-steppe dwellers is imbued with the dream of the ever-blooming, fragrant, fairy-tale land of Bumba.
