Abstract
The article provides a brief overview of the international scientific-practical conference “Relevant directions of the development of the higher education system: distance education - problems and advantages”, which was held on June 16-17, 2020 in Southern Federal University. The conference was organized by the Center for the Study of Social and Labor Relations and Problems of the Union Movement SFedU, Department of Applied Conflictology and Mediation SFedU, Trade Union Organization of SFedU. The article outlines the main ideas and results reached by the conference participants, as well as provides a generalized idea of the experience of using online learning with its advantages and disadvantages.
