Fabbing in the Structure of Social Communications: a Sociological Analysis of the Phenomenon

Abstract

In modern communication systems, social network channels are becoming dominant, where various trends of both positive and negative orientation are emerging. In addition to the trends of increasing activity and the number of social contacts, including with strangers, phenomena appear in their structure that are directly related to the cultural and social foundations of interpersonal interaction. As one of these phenomena, we should consider fabbing, which is a habit of constantly being distracted by your gadget during a conversation with your interlocutor. Despite the apparent social insignificance of this phenomenon, its impact on interpersonal relationships is becoming more and more decisive. Fabbing is a socio-psychological phenomenon that is characterized only by subjective reasons. The subject field of fabbing can be attributed to the social psychology of the individual. Fabbing has a destructive effect on the establishment and development of interpersonal communications.
