Abstract

The purpose of the presented article is to assess the significance of the research activities of M.K. Gorshkov in the field of social inequalities in Russian society. Based on the theoretical-conceptual and socio-empirical analysis of social inequalities, it is possible to draw a conclusion about the social moods of Russians and the results of social policy. Academician Gorshkov's achievement as a researcher of social inequalities is that through the principle of subjectivity, which defines social inequalities as fair and unfair (redundant), through social diagnostics, the researcher leads to a solution to the problem of social inequalities on the basis of a consistent policy that takes into account the subjective factor, and the creation of conditions for equal opportunities in access to social benefits.
