Abstract
The development of the scientific community is largely determined by the mechanism of intergenerational continuity in the scientific field and how effectively young scientists can implement themselves in the scientific world, because, as is well known, a significant part of scientific discoveries and achievements belongs to young scientists. This is not surprising if we take into account that young people are considered as the most important resource in the socio-cultural dynamics of each society, the source of its viability. From this point of view, we explain the interest in the place and role of young people in the scientific community, the specifics of professional socialization and professionalization of young scientists. The analysis of existing points of view and positions regarding the professional formation and development of this socio-professional group allowed us to identify a number of problems that form the systemic nature of the crisis in the field of professionalization of young scientists in Russia. These include: a low level of state funding, a drop in the level of academic culture, a low prestige of the academic profession, difficulties in establishing oneself in the academic environment, which leads to an increase in migration sentiment and/or exit from the academic profession.
