Abstract

The article presents the results of an applied sociological research conducted by the method of in-depth interviews with experts in the field of interethnic relations in the Rostov region. The article concludes about the egalitarian (as equality of rights and opportunities) and meritocratic (distributive) principles of social justice in interethnic relations in the region. It is established that the actualization of justice in interethnic relations depends on the nature of generalized interaction with institutional subjects of public space (law enforcement agencies, executive authorities, the education system, etc.). Key issues of exacerbating the sense of injustice in the region − non-coordinated decision-making by the authorities that affects the interests of an ethnic group, representation in government bodies, as well as property and land relations, which are especially relevant for ethnic groups living in the South-Eastern regions of the Rostov region.
