Abstract

Objective of the study is: to study the need for medical and social care for elderly people who permanently live in social service institutions. The methodological basis of the research. Research base: State Autonomous Institution of Social Services of the population of the Rostov region «Rostov boarding House No. 2 for the elderly and disabled».   The object of the study: medical records of provided persons living in boarding schools, approved by the order of the Ministry of Social Protection of the Russian Federation of 28.07.95 No. 170 «On approval of the instructions on the organization of medical care, anti-epidemic and sanitary-hygienic measures in boarding schools for the elderly and disabled». Research results. The majority of patients living in social service institutions belong to the age group from 71 to 80 years have diseases of the cardiovascular system, as well as cognitive disorders in the form of mild and moderate dementia, occurring against the background of senile asthenia syndrome. Prospects of the study. Adjusting the set of measures for medical and social rehabilitation, taking into account the results of a comprehensive geriatric assessment for elderly and senile persons permanently residing in a social service institution, will significantly improve the quality of life of this category of persons.
