Abstract

Objective of the study is to consider the patriotic practices that have developed in the youth environment of the South of Russia from the standpoint of their formal and informal origin and design. The methodological basis of the research is made up of the provisions of the activity paradigm, the neoinstitutional approach and the concept of mental programs. In their methodological framework, a strategy is proposed for studying patriotic practices as having two forms – formal and informal. Research results. The study revealed a deficit of civic consciousness in the patriotic practices of South Russian youth due to the dominance of formal patriotic practices regulated by various regulations and initiated by state authorities. In the formal framework, mainly military-patriotic practices are implemented, in which young people are actively involved. Civil everyday life does not fit into the logic of military patriotism, and therefore ordinary social practices do not become a platform for the development of patriotic practices of young people. For these purposes, civic patriotism is needed, which formation presupposes the development of informal forms of patriotic practices. Prospects of the study. The obtained theoretical and practical conclusions can be used in the further study of the patriotic practices of youth both in the South of Russia and in any region of the Russian state in order to identify the grounds for adjusting the policy in the field of patriotic education of youth being implemented in the Russian Federation.
