Abstract

Objective of the study is to identify the features of the international migration flow in the regions of the Southern Federal District based on the final annual indicators. The methodological basis of the research compiled, firstly, a method for observing the behavior of the final statistical series related to different objects (regions) to identify the characteristics of international migration in individual objects (regions). Secondly, a method for comparing statistical series reflecting the characteristics of international migration of objects (regions) to identify types of objects depending on the behavior of indicators. Thirdly, the analysis of the identified types of objects (regions) to identify patterns of behavior of characteristics that determine the observed behavior of the international migration flow in objects (regions). Research result. As a result of the analysis of statistical series characterizing international migration (the number of arrived migrants, the number of outgoing migrants, migration increase or decrease), two groups of regions were identified: typical and specific. In typical regions, the characteristics of international migration depend on the high level of the socio-economic situation of the region and are subject to a general trend (high level of migration flow, migration growth). In the specific characteristics of international migration depend on a low level of socio-economic status and are subject to multidirectional trends (low level of migration flow, low level of migration growth or even negative). Prospects of the study. The research results can be used in scientific research of international migration processes to build the dynamics of the state of international migration in specific regions. Secondly, in scientific research of regions from the point of view of fixing regional features of international migration processes. Thirdly, for the management of migration processes in the regions from the point of view of the development of migration policy.
