Abstract
Objective of the study is to sociologically study the impact of COVID-19 on changes in the environmental behavior of young people.
The methodological basis of the research is the analysis of secondary data from sociological research, on the results of statistical analysis.
Research results. The article concludes that without deep ideological changes, any artificial restrictions that force people to reduce the amount of harm to the environmental situation is only a temporary situation, after which the level of crisis in the field of ecology can only increase. It is noted that environmental values are not included in the circle of the most important priorities of young people, and quite a few representatives of this demographic group are ready to make conscious restrictions in order to improve the environmental situation. This state of affairs actualizes the search for management strategies and social practices aimed at the formation and strengthening of the foundations of the ecological behavior of young people.
Prospects of the study are in the further study of the ecological behavior of young people in the context of global and local challenges and threats.
