Abstract

The purpose of the study is the determination of the main parameters of the socio-cultural space of present-day society, identification of structural elements in it and analysis of its interaction nature. Methodological basis of the research. A sociocultural approach is used, according to which society must be considered as a unity of cultural and social, we also used the methodology of M. Weber’s ideal types, which allows us to explore society at the level of actors. Research results.  The main characteristics of the socio-cultural space of present-day society, or modern society, its genesis and current state, as well as the reasons for its transition to postmodern are determined. Their main value systems, tendencies of their change are singled out. Prospects for the study. The study of the socio-cultural space of modern and postmodern societies makes it possible to conduct a meaningful analysis of the reasons for the transformation into postmodern and to identify directions for its further development.
