In the subject field of sociology, the systemic changes that occur in the life of society are characterized, taking into account the economic, political and socio-cultural features peculiar to different types of social development inherent in certain countries and their regions. In addition, the examples of a number of original sociological studies of 2012-2022 show the possibilities and features of the mission of sociology in modern conditions Prospects of the study. In the conditions of transition to the Russian model of the entry of the Crimean regional society into the economic, political, legal and socio-cultural space of Russia, the problem of civic activity of the population is actualized. It includes examples of active and conscious participation of citizens in socio-political life, their real participation in political decision-making in contact with the authorities. And to solve this urgent problem, first of all, a regionally oriented sociology is called upon, which, along with its theoretical analysis, has the ability to monitor the situation on the ground and has mechanisms for developing specific management decisions that contribute to the stabilization of social processes and, in general, the stabilization of systemic changes in the life of regions, and, consequently, in the life of our society.
