Abstract

Objective of the study: to identify the factors influencing the formation of value orientations of student youth on sports and recreational activities.   The methodological basis of the research consists of the principles of institutional and activity approaches. The institutional approach makes it possible to determine not only the objective parameters of the functioning of sports, but also subjective characteristics, including value orientations, attitudes of representatives of various social groups and strata aimed at sports and recreational activities. The activity approach is considered as a specific type of recreational activity, which is an integral component of the lifestyle of persons involved in the considered sports and recreational activities. The application of the activity approach makes it possible to reveal the mechanisms and patterns within the framework of the folding of appropriate attitudes and orientations in the process of sports and recreational activities. Research  results. The author notes the increased attention to the introduction of sports and recreation activities as a background component of physical culture in the daily life of a person in order to solve complex social problems expressed in interpersonal communication, improve mental health, optimal physical development and preservation of rational motor functions in practical life. Sports and recreation activities in accordance with their content and tasks cannot guarantee radical transformations of the morphofunctional capabilities of the body and physical improvement of a young person, but is one of the effective means in preserving and strengthening health, which is the basis of social well-being of a young person in the present reality and age perspective.   Prospects of the study are related to the development of certain techniques that can increase the level of involvement of young people in sports and recreational activities.
