Abstract

Objective of the study is to consider the applicability of the category “intangible heritage” to the personality and achievements of Ataman Platov, to assess its relevance in the modern socio-cultural context. The methodological basis of the research. The research is based on the analysis of historical sources, scientific research, archival documents and materials testifying to the life of ataman M. I. Platov. Research results. The relevance of the patriotic heritage of the leader of the Don Cossacks for modern society is indicated. Prospects of the study. The prospects of the research are connected with the definition of forms and methods of using the intangible heritage of M. I. Platov in patriotic education.
