Abstract

Objective of the study is to identify the social foundations of the effectiveness of the electoral process in the system of institutional mechanisms of the modern political and social space. The object of the study is the processes of satisfying social demands with the help of political mechanisms. The subject of the study is the social foundations of the effectiveness of electoral processes in modern political systems. The methodological basis of the research. To achieve the goal of the research work, the following research methods were used. At the stage of substantiation of the main theoretical and methodological approach – abstraction, formalization and comparative analysis of the conceptual characteristics of the neo-Marxist, neoliberal, postmodern, behaviorist and institutional paradigms. Within the framework of the structural and functional study of the electoral process, the methods of systemic and institutional analysis are used. Research results. One of the conditions for the effective functioning of the electoral process are mobilizing attitudes, which, as the mobilization mechanisms of the modern Russian political system, are characterized by duality: in the sphere of domestic policy, attitudes towards sustainable socio-economic development dominate, and in the sphere of foreign policy, imperatives of national security. the correlation of mobilization attitudes of domestic and foreign policy: attitudes towards socio-economic development and imperatives of national security can be considered as an example of the dialectical unity of two mechanisms, the interaction of which creates prerequisites for the development of the political system. Prospects of the study are to substantiate the expediency of considering the electoral process as a mechanism functioning within the framework of four phases. The theoretical analysis of this mechanism allows us to use the results obtained in practice to improve the mechanisms that make up the electoral process in practice.
