Abstract
Objective of the study is to analyze the issues of formation and existential development of cultural practices of modern urban space by citizens. Consider the existential problems of urban residents that affect positive patterns and lead to an increase in anxiety and alienation.
The methodological basis of the research consists of an existential approach and a socio-cultural approach. Thus, within the framework of the existential approach, the city is considered as an existence manifested in the form of the experiences of a citizen. In turn, the socio-cultural approach allows us to study the influence of urban culture on a person.
Research results. The author notes that the existential development of a modern city brings to light the problems of identity of a person living in conditions of constant man-made stress and the further expansion of virtual reality into everyday practices. Moreover, the cultural practices of modern citizens have been transformed as a result of the introduction of a number of technological innovations, conditions have arisen for the emergence of "creative", "smart", "digital" cities in which the daily activities of residents can be subjected to serious regulation by the management and control system. However, the main problem of the existential development of urban culture is related to the fact that the main direction of urban transformation is the formation of a comfortable human environment, which often does not take into account the existential needs of the citizen.
Prospects of the study. In order for the practices of urban space development to be effectively implemented, it is necessary to form trusting relationships that are designed to overcome alienation between citizens.
