Abstract
Objective of the study is: to analyze the civic values and attitudes of Russian youth, taking into account the current realities associated primarily with the special military operation , the accession of new territories to the Russian Federation in the south of the country, the increasing confrontation between Russia and the West on the world stage.
The methodological basis of the research is based on expert assessments of sociologists, data from public opinion polls, empirical measurements of Russian sociologists studying the dynamics and structure of values of young people, their focus on civic values, activity in everyday civic practices.
Research results. Civic values and attitudes of young people determine their civic behavior, the degree of involvement in socially useful activities, in socio-political processes. Their formation and change are influenced by factors of the external and internal environment. A powerful factor that constructs the civic values of young people at the moment is a special military operation and a change in the regional space of the state due to the inclusion of new territories that have become full-fledged subjects of the Russian Federation. Young people perceive the situation related to their own and the protracted Russian-Ukrainian conflict differently, however, this situation has activated young people, the level of their civic activity has increased despite the fact that civic values and attitudes in the value hierarchy of young Russians occupy far from priority positions. Young people are ready to be active in the socio-political life of the country, in solving acute social problems, but this readiness is not fully realized. To a greater extent, young people are attracted to the online platform as a space for the implementation of civil installations. It seems that the civic-patriotic format of educating young people and involving them in socially useful activities with an emphasis on the military-mobilization type of patriotism should not be total and dominant, since civic activity is not limited to the socio-political agenda, but implies active involvement in everyday practices.
Prospects of the study are connected with the study of civic attitudes and values of youth from the point of view of the modern era of change and the influence of the situation of their own on the perception of citizenship, patriotism, civic engagement, on the nature and forms of civic behavior, the level of its activity.
