Abstract
Objective of the study is: To analyze the ideas of students about the role of the leading world countries in the global geopolitical arena. Highlight the countries that, according to the students, act as «friends» and «enemies» for Russia.
The methodological basis of the research is the empirical data of a pilot sociological study conducted by the staff of the SRB – FCTAS RAS in 2023. The research method is a questionnaire. Within the framework of this project, students of Taganrog were interviewed.
Research result. The data obtained in the course of the applied sociological study indicate the high difficulty experienced by the student youth in determining the role of the world's leading states on the world stage. However, with regard to the definition of "friend countries" and "enemy countries" for Russia, the students showed more confidence and solidarity in their opinions. Also, the main reasons that can cause young people to have personal antipathy towards certain foreign countries were highlighted.
Prospects of the study. The empirical data obtained in the course of the study can be used by representatives of universities, public organizations, youth affairs departments in the development of youth policy programs and activities aimed at increasing the socio-political activity of young people.
