Abstract
Objective of the study is to analyze the use of physical culture values in improving the sports and recreational activities of Russian youth.
The methodological basis of the study consists of the principles of institutional, structural-functional and activity approaches. As an empirical basis, we also used materials from specific sociological studies conducted with the direct participation of the dissertation candidate: 1) applied sociological research on the role of sports and recreational activities in the recreation of young people in the South of Russia, which consisted of carrying out a mass survey (the sample population of the study is non-random, quota; mass the survey was conducted among young people in the Astrakhan region, Krasnodar Territory and among young people in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol; the sample size for a mass survey of young people in the South of Russia was 1000 people); 2) an expert survey, the purpose of which was to identify the role of sports and recreational activities in the recreation of youth in the South of Russia (44 experts from various regions of the South of Russia took part in the survey).
Results of the study allow us to assess the degree of influence of various factors on the involvement of young people in sports and recreational activities in the recreation system, to determine the main tasks of further mastering the values of physical culture and sports, strengthening and preserving the health of young people, which in modern reality is the basis of social and professional well-being.
Research perspectives. The use of sports facilities and modern sports equipment expands the possibilities for implementing sports and recreational activities in the health, educational and educational areas. Intellectual and informational values create an effective basis for attracting young people to sports and recreational activities for the purpose of individual physical improvement in recreational and professional activities.
