Abstract

The development of human capital is understood to be the main resource of successful economic functioning today. In this connection, different economic players invest in the development of employee competence, as only experienced personnel are able to provide their own career development and guarantee the competitive advantage of a national economy in fast-developing world. The authors draw upon the idea that the demand for increasing human capital from personnel arises together with the increase of the economic viability of a branch/ enterprise hoping to achieve a higher competitive advantage, to which human capital is related. In this case, an enterprise is ready to invest in human capital and hopes for rather high efficiency. On the other hand, a different situation is possible when the economic situation of the branch/enterprise worsens and authorities tend to dismiss less effective employees
Keywords:
human potential, professional complementary education, key labour competence
