Abstract

The growth of intellectual potential is a necessary condition for innovative development. The intellectual potential is directly related to the effectiveness of education and the contribution of graduates of educational institutions to the national economy. Numerous publications examine the relationship of work with education, the duration of a job search, youth unemployment, etc. At the same time, the question arises: are usually accepted indicators enough for the assessment of the contribution of education? The article is an attempt to approach the answer to this question. The statistics of employment after graduation (the article contains information on employment depending on education and on the relationship of the job with the profession) allow us to obtain formal assessments. Further interpretation is aimed at broadening of understanding how and why an accordance or discordance between the training received and the real work is formed. The impact of both objective and subjective factors is analyzed: the volatility of the labor market, the nature of the functioning of the educational sphere, the dynamics of youth orientations. The possibilities and limitations of various types of influences on the emerging situation are discussed. Attention is drawn to the universalism of education. Assessment of the usefulness of education solely from the point of view of using it in the economy seems not entirely appropriate. This applies to both the knowledge acquired and the socialization received during the study. Finally, the role of education in the development of the individual, the universal humanitarian significance of education has been and remains important. Research results make it possible to predict the interaction of the innovative economy, the educational sphere and social behavior of young people. National experience confirms the high degree of reactivity of social behavior of youth and the adaptability of the sphere of education. It demonstrates that the aspirations of young people follow the new opportunities and specify the time. And the educational sphere, if changes come, will have to satisfy new demands and once again demonstrate its own resources.
